best workout programs reddit

hi all, i’m fairly new to leangains, and i’m doing intermittent fasting 16:8, what i’m looking for is a weight training program, to build some muscle and burn some fat. obviously most programs cost money, so i’m not shy to that fast, i just want a good quality (beginner) muscle building program, that’s not too intense for someone just getting back in the gym. stronglifts 5×5 is fairly simple, only 3 or 4 exercises per day for 5 sets of 5 reps. only 3 days a week as well. the workouts only take about 45mins if you don’t slack off, and it’s nice getting in the gym frequently to be more active. it’s simple, structured and easy to adhere to. especially if you’re lifting for the first time ever. hop on a program – most popular ones work or else they wouldn’t have gotten popular.

also starting strength and stronglifts work well for a beginner…. for a time. you said you want to lose weight and build muscle. you cannot continue in a deficit of calories and continue to make strength and muscle gains. then you will need to choose to keep losing weight or eat more and build some appreciable muscle. i’m not an expert by any means just spreading what has worked best for me . you can switch some things around . find which workouts and lifts work best for each muscle group, and choose which ones you want to do .
